Recruitment Agencies

Specialist recruitment firms are often the first points of contact for Members seeking employment. You can maximise your chances of success by making contact in advance with a recruitment consultant who is a specialist in your market, to discuss and understand the demand for your specific skill set. The role of a recruitment consultant is to facilitate the best possible match between you and a potential employer. They have priority access to brand new vacancies every day, which means that you can find out about potential opportunities before they are advertised.

Many consultants working in the larger agencies are aware of the ACCA Qualification. However, it is often necessary to encourage consultants to have the confidence to recommend ACCA members to their clients.

Employers have clear specifications of the applicants they are looking for. Recruitment consultants may need to be persuaded to put forward an accountant without ‘traditional’ experience. They will be more prepared to do so if the applicant can demonstrate a track record of achievements and is likely to present well at the interview. Describing past job roles and responsibilities is not enough.

ACCA’s strong credentials must be presented factually and persuasively to prospective employers and recruitment consultants to convince them the ACCA Qualification is fully comparable to Australian or New Zealand qualifications. ACCA is one of the leading professional bodies globally due to its reputation for high, uniform, qualifying standards. Please print out the ACCA Qualification and include it with job applications. You should also take it to interviews to help showcase the benefits of the ACCA to prospective employers.

Please refer to the following recruitment firms in Australia and New Zealand for further information. Many of these firms also publish salary surveys which describe the state of the market.
